Beyond Redemption?: The Nazi Colonel Who Saved Jews and Plundered Their Wealth

This is the story of SS Colonel Kurt Andreas Becher, who was a confidante of Himmler. Despite his position in the SS, Becher negotiated the rescue of 1684 Jews, in exchange for their wealth. After the war, he was viewed as both a saviour and a demon. Did his humanitarian gestures sanitise his soul, or did motives of commercial gain condemn him to eternal guilt?
