Moshe was born in Radom, Poland in 1921. When Germany attacked Poland, Moshe joined the Polish auxiliary force. After the Poles capitulated, he returned to Radom. Jews were forced to live in a ghetto and in August 1942 his three sisters and father were deported and murdered in the Nazi extermination camp Treblinka. Moshe was taken to Majdanek camp, then Auschwitz and to other camps before being liberated in May 1945. Moshe’s memoir depicts life in pre-war Poland and the horrors he experienced at the hands of the Nazis; it also the acts of decency and courage that helped him survive.
